October 23, 2024 testing reminder

Posted Date: 10/21/24 (3:00 PM)

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This is a reminder that we will administer the PSATs to all 10th and 11th grade students and the NWEA Map test to all 9th grade students, Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

Parents, please have a thoughtful conversation with your student emphasizing the importance of these tests as benchmark assessments. It is important that each student try their very best on these assessments.

Seniors

Seniors will be excused from school Wednesday with the expectation that they are preparing for post-high school plans or working on their portfolio.

Juniors and Sophomores

Juniors and Sophomores will take the digital-format PSAT/NMSQT using their own device or a school chromebook.

Testing room assignments were sent individually to each student's school email address on the morning of Thursday, October 17th from Mr. Sobolewski.  This is the same room that they completed their pre-administration in last week.

What to bring on the day of the test:

  • Snacks and water for breaks

  • A fully charged device and charger

  • Calculators (optional, since the testing interface includes a built-in calculator) Students who prefer to use a handheld calculator must be sure to bring an approved device, and extra batteries.

  • Pens or pencils - scratch paper will be available to all students.

Freshmen

Freshmen will be taking the digital-format of the NWEA Map test. The students will be using school-issued Chromebooks that will be distributed on testing day. Student testing rooms are listed in PowerSchool as a class titled Freshmen Class - No Teacher. The testing site is the room that is listed for that class.
