Welcome to the Cider Mill Library Learning Commons (LLC)
We believe that the Library Learning Commons is the central hub for learning at our school. It is a full-service learning center where students and teachers meet and gather to do research, collaborate, use technology resources and create. The Learning Commons offers multiple services to the students and staff at Cider Mill School. Digital resources and online databases mean students have greater access to information. A recording studio offers students and staff the ability to videotape and voice record their thoughts or as a final presentation tool. The space itself is furnished and set up to provide a great deal of flexibility for students and staff to collaborate, create and work on projects in groups of all sizes. Tech support for students and staff is also available in the Learning Commons and having the Innovation space nearby gives students easy access to opportunities and materials to showcase their learning.
We incorporate our 5 strands of the LLC curriculum on a continual basis through direct instruction or in collaboration with other teachers:-
It is our vision to provide the resources and space for students and staff to enjoy the learning process and instill a love of learning that reaches beyond the normal hours and the four walls of the school.
yours in reading and learning,

Book Check outs-Books are checked out for a two week period against the student's accounts. Students will visit the LLC once in their 4 day schedule for lessons and book check-out. Some weeks, depending on the rotating Mondays, we will see students twice in the same week, thus allowing another opportunity to check out books. At the classroom teacher's discretion, students are welcome anytime to renew or check out books.
