Welcome To New Teaching Staff at Wilton Public Schools

Wilton Public Schools celebrated our newly-hired teachers on August 27, 2018 with a warm welcome led by our Director of Human Resources, Maria Coleman.  Mrs. Coleman pointed out that there were 21 newly-hired staff from a pool of 617 candidates - truly a highly-qualified, select group.   The morning event was followed by inspiring presentations from Dr. Kevin Smith, Superintendent of Schools, and Christine Finkelstein, Board of Education Chair as well as an introduction to curriculum, instruction and professional learning by Dr. Chuck Smith, Assistant Superintendent and Andrea Leonardi, Assistant Superintendent, Special Student Services. Each new staff member was then introduced by their building principal and personally welcomed by all who spoke.   The new staff started the year discussing their hopes and goals for their new year, understanding there are many people they can reach out for support in any area they need.
