Come and Make a Difference - Volunteers Needed for the 2024-2025 PTSA!
Have you thought about volunteering but worried about the time commitment? This week we are taking a more indepth look at just one area of our volunteer openings to give you a better idea of what the role involves. New Family Liaison Chair - this role is to help make our new families, to Wilton, feel welcome and connected and you will work as and when needed. You will work to build strong relationships and ensure effective communication. This role involves providing support and resources, and gathering feedback to improve our services. If you’re interested in this position or any of the others: President/Co-President, Beautification Chair(s), 2025 Senior Picnic Co-Chair (1), Nominations Chair or Meditation Room Co-Chair then please reach out to Sue Robins.
National PTA Relection Winner
National PTA Reflections Winner A huge congratulations to Illeas Paschalidis on winning an Award of Excellence for Literature and a cash prize. Four of our amazing and talented students made it to the national competition for music composition, film production, literature and photography - having swept the board at the State level of the competition. Congratulations to all of you, your work was outstanding - we can't wait to see what you do next year!
HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION
NGSS Testing information On Wednesday, May 22, WHS will be administering the Connecticut Next Generation Science Standards assessment to all Juniors. As a result of this testing, we have modified the schedule for the day by extending the first block to 120 minutes. In addition, all science staff will participate in administering the assessment, therefore Period 3 science classes will not meet on the morning of May 22. WHS Theater-Harry Potter & The Cursed Child Audition Information Meeting Thursday, May 23rd from 4-5PM in the Little Theatre. All WHS students, 8th grade students and parents are welcome to attend! Meet the Director, Kevin Slater and Producer/Choreographer, Kathryn Luckstone. Learn important information in preparation for the Harry Potter auditions. Auditions will be held June 11th and 12th with callbacks on June 13th in the Clune Center for the Arts. No sign up required to attend the information session.
Bubble and Brew is Back on May 21!
In observance of Mental Health Awareness and Action month, the HOPE Squad and PTSA are teaming up to bring Bubble & Brew to school on May 21. Bubble & Brew will be donating 20% of the day’s proceeds to the HOPE Squad! It’s an opportunity to grab a treat and enjoy some refreshing down time with us, IRL and support the HOPE Squad’s critical work. Beginning at 11:00 AM. Cash suggested to keep it old school and a tech-free experience!
